THERMOELECTRIC SILENT BATTERY CHARGER.

Abstract

The report describes the findings of electrical and physical characteristics and environmental effects on system performance of silent, multi-fueled, 10-ampere, 28-volt dc thermoelectric generators (PP-6074( )/U). The units run on gasoline, Diesel, JP-4, JP-5 and fuel oil, and are capable of generating 200 watt-hours of electical energy for every pound of fuel consumed. Examples of Army field applications are presented which make use of the inherent qualities (silent, multi-fueled, lightweight and remote-start capability) of the power source. (Author)
