INFORMATION SEARCH SYSTEM WITH IMPROVING PARAMETERS (INFORMATSIONNO-POISKOVAYA SISTEMA S ULUCHSHAYUSHCHIMISYA PARAMETRAMI),

Abstract

A scheme for a two-stage information-retrieval system is discussed, in which the data retrieval is performed by initial inversion selection of the search images and subsequent checking of the search images selected by the block of logical relation, during which irrelevant documents are separated. Such programs can be improved continuously by the introduction of corrective orders concerning the quality of the selection work. The inversion search block selects all papers whose titles have even the remotest relation to the inquiry. The logical block includes a number of discriminators (operators) each selecting documents with a definite type and degree of logical relation to the inquiry. The type of the operators selecting the documents determines the amount of irrelevant items in the selection, the degree of information loss, and the length of working time of such a program.
