Abstract
Algorithms for the calculation of elementary functions and their realization with the 'Setun' computer are described. The computer itself was described in Zhurn. vychisl. matem. i matem. fiz. v. 1, No. 3, 1961. Standard subprograms are developed for addition, subtraction, subtraction of moduli, inverse addition, inverse subtraction, multiplication, division, extraction of square root, sine function, cosine function, exponential, and natural logarithm. Some peculiarities of programming, connected with the use of a ternary system in this computer, are discussed. The individual subprograms are described in detail. All the subprograms are intended to operate with the IP-2 interpreting program. The total computational error of each algorithm is analyzed in detail.
