UNIVERSAL DIGITAL CONTROLLER (UNIVERSALNAYA TSIFROVAYA UPRAVLYAYUSHCHAYA MASHINA),

Abstract

The proposed machine differs from existing machines in that the trigger adder is connected place-by-place with the mutually-complementing outputs of the readout amplifiers, which are connected with the information readout windings of the ferrite memory unit, whose excitation circuits are connected through an OR circuit with the trigger-controlled 12-place address register and with the supplementary four-place trigger register of the fixed address. The proposed machine also differs in that two groups of AND circuits are connected to the inputs of the trigger and the 1's carry pulse shaper, and to one group of the AND circuits there are connected the corresponding outputs of the trigger, the outputs of the read amplifier, and the source of the 'add' instruction, while to the other group of AND circuits there are connected the corresponding trigger outputs, the read amplifier outputs, and the 'subtract' instruction source. This provides increased reliability of the adder operation. (Author)
