PROCEEDINGS OF THE CONFERENCE ON THE MILITARY IMPORTANCE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN SNAIL COMPLEX.
Abstract
A conference, The Military Importance of the Mediterranean Snail Complex, was attended by military, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and invited malacologists from various universities. The conference included a review of the action taken by the military units to prevent the introduction of quarantinable snails and the need for a more dependable technique as well as a less expensive method. The lack of adequate biological data became obvious. Details of mechanical, biological and chemical controls were presented. (Author)
