ATMOSPHERIC OPTICAL MEASUREMENTS IN VICINITY OF CRATER LAKE, OREGON. PART II.

Abstract

The report, Part II, presents additional atmospheric optical data, comparable to the data presented in Part 1, but for a different type of day, and for four descents instead of two. Three of the descents were before local apparent noon; the fourth descent was after local apparent noon. Simultaneous spectral irradiance data were recorded at the surface of Crater Lake. Data presented are altitude profiles of heading of aircraft, temperature, relative humidity, equilibrium luminance, horizontal path function, attenuation length, nadir luminance, upwelling and downwelling illuminances and their ratios, reflectance calculated from nadir luminance, atmospheric beam transmittances for vertical path of sight as a function of solar zenith angle, and downwelling illuminance as a function of solar zenith angle.
