EFFECTS OF TYPE OF TESTING EQUIPMENT AND SPECIMEN SIZE ON TOUGHNESS OF WOOD.

Abstract

Combining results of several studies shows that toughness values determined with the FPL toughness testing machine average higher than those for comparable material determined with the Amsler Universal wood testing machine. In general, FPL machine values may be assumed to be 16 percent higher than Amsler machine values. (Author)
