EFFECT OF PRECOMPRESSION ON SLICED WOOD, 1/2 AND 1 INCH IN THICKNESS.

Abstract

Based on measurements of checks and thickness variability of slices, precompression had little effect on quality of slice when chestnut oak and Douglas-fir blocks were sliced 1/2 and 1 inch thick using a modified milling machine. (Author)
