RESEARCH IN MATHEMATICAL BEHAVIOUR THEORY.
Abstract
The research has the general objectives of (1) facilitating the application and extensions of statistical learning theory to decision making, problem solving, test performance, and communication; (2) the development of new methods for extracting information from psychological data and testing mathematically formulated hypotheses; (3) developing experimental designs and techniques especially suited for testing and evaluation of models for learning, retention, and transfer. Special emphasis was placed on problems of interaction between learning and testing, the analysis of relatively complex varieties of human learning into simpler constituent subprocesses, and the development of a theory of reinforcement in human learning.
