ELECTRICAL PROTECTION OF CLOSED SOLENOID,
Abstract
Large thermonuclear installations commonly have closed solenoid magnetic systems for confinement of plasma. When trouble occurs in the solenoid circuit destruction of the magnetic system and allied assemblies may result. Hence the problem of reliable protection of the solenoid becomes urgent. The authors propose a method and describe an effective device for electrical protection of a closed solenoid.
