DEVELOPMENT OF THEORY OF INVARIANCE AND ITS APPLICATIONS (RAZVITIE TEORII INVARIANTNOSTI I EE PRIMENENIYA),

Abstract

The Third All-Union Conference on Invariance Theory and its Applications in Automatic Control Systems organized by the USSR and Ukrainian Academies of Sciences, held in Kiev from 31 May to 4 June, was attended by some 500 scientists and engineers from the USSR, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. Papers were presented in the following sections: (a) general problems of invariance theory; (b) combined control systems; (c) invariance in sampled-data control systems; (d) invariance and sensitivity theory, invariant self-adjusting systems; (e) nonlinear invariant systems; (f) invariance in many-dimensional automatic control systems; (g) application of invariance theory to moving objects; and (h) industrial applications of invariant systems. The papers that were presented and the discussions showed that significant results were obtained in invariance theory.
