EQUILIBRIUM THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES AND ELECTRON CONCENTRATIONS OF CESIUM-ARGON MIXTURES BEHIND INCIDENT AND REFLECTED NORMAL SHOCK WAVES,

Abstract

The equilibrium temperature, density, pressure, and electron concentration of cesium-argon mixtures behind incident and reflected normal shock waves were calculated. Presented are the results for p sub 1 = 1, 2, 5, and 10 mm Hg; n sub cs/n(total) = .005, .01, .03, and .05; 1.0 < or = M sub S < or = 10.8. Subsidiary calculations show the effect of the cesium partition function, initial gas temperature, and argon ionization in specific cases. (Author)
