WIDE-ANGLE INTERNAL DEFLECTION STRUCTURES OF CATHODE-RAY TUBES.

Abstract

Questions of deflection sensitivity and wide-angle deflection are discussed. Incorporation of a wide-angle electrostatic deflection system into a cathode-ray tube requires the use of post-acceleration to counteract the resulting poorer deflection sensitivity. A small-size specially shaped deflection electrode system was designed and constructed and experimentally studied in a demountable vacuum system. Results of the investigation are reported. (Author)
