Abstract

Dovgopol reports that a new method of drawing has been developed. The new technique raised the production rate of drawing mills by 20-30% and increased the tool life 20 times. Several grades of inexpensive, strong vanadium steels have been developed for the construction, transportation, and machine building industries. The author, however, complains that the institutes and plants do not have an adequate incentive to further the uses of vanadium steels. (Author)
