OBTAINMENT OF ARTIFICIAL DIASPORE (HYDROUS ALUMINUM OXIDE) (O POLUCHENII ISKUSSTVENNOGO DIASPORA),

Abstract

The obtainment of artificial diaspore (hydrous aluminum oxide) was accomplished in an alkali and aqueous medium with and without the presence of a primer. The experiments were realized in autoclave bombs from stainless steel periodically heated in an air thermostat. Exposure at such a temperature was calculated summarily. As initial materials, solutions of chemically pure alkali of various concentrations and artificial boehmite were used. Natural diaspore was used for the 'primer,' and those experiments introducing the primer produced optical characteristics corresponding to that of the natural diaspore. However, those experiments carried out without the introduction of a primer at 315 and 350C gave no positive results. (Author)
