DETERMINATION OF VAPOR PRESSURES OF VARIOUS BETA-DIKETONE METAL CHELATES.

Abstract

The vapor pressures of various beta-diketone metal chelates were measured by utilizing a quartz spiral bourdon gauge as a nulling instrument and reading the pressures from an oil manometer. Determinations were made in the temperature range of 60 to 200C for the chromium and aluminum chelates of hexafluoroacetylacetone, trifluoroacetylacetone, and acetylacetone. Vapor pressure measurements were also obtained for yttrium dipivaloylmethanate in the temperature range of 130 to 250C. Heats of sublimation and vaporization were calculated from the Clausius-Clapeyron plots of the vapor pressure data. (Author)
