Abstract

The report covers work under Contract N00014-66-C0344 for the period 1 August 1967 to 31 July 1968. Topics discussed include theoretical and experimental work on the propagation of ultrashort pulses, measurement of nanosecond fluorescent decay times, light amplification in saturable absorbers, adiabatic inversion of quantum states, optical rectification and mode-locking of organic dye lasers.
