EVALUATION OF TRANSLATION CUE TECHNIQUES IN POINT LIGHT SOURCE SIMULATION.

Abstract

In an attempt to enhance the usefulness of the present three-degree-of-freedom point light simulator, a research and development effort has been undertaken to determine the feasibility of adding two and possibly three translational degrees of freedom. A brief description of the present system is inserted to provide background material. The possible approaches investigated and evaluated are included. One approach is given further study and some design considerations for a typical modification of the existing display generating system are presented. (Author)
