DATA ANALYSES AND SIMULATION OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA TRIAL COURT SYSTEM FOR THE PROCESSING OF FELONY DEFENDANTS.

Abstract

The report, prepared by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) at the request of the Department of Justice, deals with the problem of delay in the processing of felony defendants within the court system of the District of Columbia. The first of its two parts--An Analysis of the District of Columbia Trial Court System for Processing Felonies--was incorporated in the report of the Science and Technology Task Force of the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice. Part II--Data Requirements and COURTSIM--is the detailed account of the development of the District of Columbia court system simulation and provides greater detail on the data requirements and simulation program.
