DESIGN OF DEFORMABLE FOUNDATIONS,

Abstract

This document presents procedures for predicting the response, to a limited number of environments, of equipment installations expected to experience plastic deformation of their foundations. The text includes information related to the establishment of the elasto-plastic characteristics of miscellaneous equipment foundations and also includes an approximate general procedure for predicting the response of elasto-plastic systems to any shock environment. This document constitutes a report of the accomplishments of a fourth phase of a study dealing with the shock mitigation afforded shipboard equipment by the characteristics of the equipment mounting systems.
