FORGING OF LARGE FORGED PIECES (CHAPTER II),

Abstract

The article covers: the heating of billets and blanks for forging using structural carbon and alloy steels; the mechanical properties of disks forged at various temperature conditions; a new method for forging pieces of turbine and compressor disks and lids on floating blocks under hydraulic presses; and technological factors determining the deformation of metal during rolling of forged lead, aluminum, and steel blanks. Tables and diagrams are presented to illustrate more thoroughly the processes used.
