Abstract

The Memorandum is divided into four topics: (1) Grinding, (2) Polishing, (3) Etching, and (4) Thining for transmission electron microscopy. Procedures reviewed are also listed in tabular form for ready reference. In addition to reviewing published references, the authors have included a considerable amount of previously unpublished data based on their own experience and private communication with associates in the field.
