SELF-ADJUSTING TEACHING MACHINES (SAMOPRISPOSABLIVAYUSHCHIESYA OBUCHAYUSHCHIE MASHINY),

Abstract

A study was made on the synthesis of teaching machine (OM) elements, to ensure the stabilization of the chi indicator of the teaching process of each student. At first, a procedure is given for calculating the chi indicator for the case when the teaching machine predicts the magnitude of this indicator on the basis of probabilities of the answer to the control question which were evaluated by the method described in the first part. Three possible variants were studied: (1) a predicting teaching machine calculates the chi indicator by the results obtained in one part of the curriculum covered by the group of students (who have already completed the program) with an instruction history identical to the instruction history of a given student; (2) the chi indicator is calculated, taking into account the averaged effect of the method of explanation, but not the separate sections of the text material; (3) the chi indicator is calculated by using a standard stochastic automatic device, for which the number of methods for presenting the material is assumed. The problem of synthesis of such a automatic device was formulated.
