INCOMPRESSIBLE LAMINAR BOUNDARY LAYER PAST ELLIPTICAL BODIES.

Abstract

The skin-friction law, previously derived for two-dimensional bodies, is now extended to revolution bodies. These laws are applied to elliptical cylinders and to ellipsoids. The results are compared with those obtained by Pretsch through Pohlhausen's method. Above all, the present method improves the setting of the separation point, occurring earlier on ellipsoids than on elliptical cylinders. (Author)
