THE POSSIBILITY OF AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION OF LEUKOCYTES (O VOZMOZHNOSTI AVTOMATICHESKOGO UZNAVANIYA LEIKOTSITOV),
Abstract
From the analysis of a large statistical population, quantitative characteristics of leukocytic images were determined. On the basis of these characteristics an algorithm was worked out which classifies leukocytes by types. Tests of the arrangement showed that, with individual presentation of leukocytes, satisfactory classification is achieved into three groups: 1 - lymphocytes, 2 - monocytes, and 3 - neutrophile band-forms, segmented forms and eosinophiles. Separation of leukocytes into 4 groups, in correspondence with the algorithm, can be achieved with the automatic setup by equalizing the discrimination of video signal for every cell separately.
