THE FLOW BETWEEN TWO PLATES OF A FLUID CONTAINING RIGID STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The flow between two plates of a fluid containing rigid structures is examined analytically. Profiles of the velocity and averaged vorticity of the structures for a wide range of cases are given. It is found that the velocity profiles can have convex portions near the boundaries and that they may resemble the box shaped profiles characteristic of high Reynolds number Navier-Stokes flow.
