AN ALTERNATE DERIVATION OF SOME EQUATIONS OCCURRING IN A PAPER BY KRAICHNAN,

Abstract

Paper gives a detailed derivation of some of the formulae that appear in the paper of Robert H. Kraichnan, Dynamics of Nonlinear Stochastic Systems, (Journal of Mathematical Physics, February 1961). The irreducible diagrams that play an important role in this paper arise in a natural way by a special method of matrix inversion. On this basis most of the important formulae of Kraichnan can be obtained in a rather lucid way. An appendix contains a detailed study of the relation between averages of the original system and in collective coordinates. (Author)
