PRACTICAL DESIGNS FOR RC ACTIVE FILTERS USING OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS

Abstract

Several practical circuits for the design of RC active filters using operational amplifiers are given. The transfer function of each circuit has a pair of complex poles and has transmission zeros either all at infinity, one each at zero and infinity or an imaginary pair at plus or minus omega sub o. More complicated transfer functions can be obtained by cascading these circuits. Design procedures are outlined which minimize the need of capacitor trimming, and the sensitivity of the transfer function to changes in gain of the operational amplifier is minimized.
