TANKAGE MATERIALS IN LIQUID PROPELLANTS.

Abstract

The report discusses the work conducted on Air Force Contract F33615-67-C-1718 concerning the study of engineering behavior of tankage materials in liquid propellants. A survey of literature about the type and form of impact data required by tank designers was made. Modified ABMA open-cup impact tests on Al 2014-T6 and Ti-6Al-4V (ELI) in the oxidizers N2O4, ClF5, and LF2 were conducted. (Author)
