DESCRIPTION OF A CONTINUING PROGRAM ON TABLES OF THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF MATERIALS.
Abstract
This technical report covers work on a continuing systematic program involving the search, collection, extraction, organization, evaluation, correlation, analysis, and synthesis; the preparation of 'intermediate tables' presenting the available total experimental information; and the final preparation of internally consistent tables of data referred to as 'Tables of Recommended Most Probable Values.' The work reported on consists of tables projects on the thermal conductivity, specific heat, thermal radiative properties (emittance, reflectance, absorptance, transmittance, and solar radiation coefficient), and thermal diffusivity of metallic and nonmetallic elements, alloys, compounds, mixtures, and systems, and the thermal conductivity, specific heat, and viscosity of liquids and gases. This report does not contain the completed data sheets for these properties and materials, but does reproduce in the Appendix, Table of Contents and List of Figures and Tables and Organization of Materials for each of the seven forthcoming volumes (which contain over 7000 data sheets) of the new 'TPRC Series on Thermophysical Properties of Matter' and also the Directory of Materials for the remaining chapters in the existing TPRC Data Book not covered in the seven volumes mentioned above.
