EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON AIR-ENTRAINING ADMIXTURE DEMAND OF CONCRETE WITH AND WITHOUT POZZOLANS.

Abstract

Mixtures were made with portland cement, blends of portland cement and pozzolan, and pozzolan alone, at temperature ranges of 40-45, 70-80, and 90-100 F to determine whether increasing the temperature of freshly mixed concrete results in an increased requirement for air-entraining admixture in order to maintain a given level of air content in the concrete.
