STUDY OF POLYTYPIC PHASE RELATIONS AMONG COMPLEX INORGANIC STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The structure of diaboleite, a derivative of that of perovskite, has been confirmed. Progress on the complete determination of the hematophanite structure, also a derivative of that of perovskite, is reviewed, and some general relations among these structure types is described. Further definition of the structures of plumboferrite and nigerite is reviewed. The initial phases of work on single crystal polytypes at high temperature, in this case wollastonite, showed no tendency for disappearance of superstructure or transformation to the assumed more stable phase.
