CALCULATION OF THE EFFECT OF AN ARBITRARY DYNAMIC LOAD ON CIRCULAR AND ANNULAR PLATES (RASCHET KRUGLYKH I KOLTSEVYKH PLASTINOK NA DEISTVIE PROIZVOLNOI DINAMICHESKOI NAGRUZKI),

Abstract

Using Hankel integral transformations the author solves the equations for axisymmetric vibration of annular plates under axisymmetric loading for several boundary and shape conditions. After integrating by parts, an expression is obtained. The solutions are obtained for the case of a circular flat plate hinged around the perimeter, for an unsupported plate, for a plate clamped around the perimeter, and for an annular plate, by choosing the correct quantity to satisfy the boundary conditions and by finding a characteristic equation. The results are extended to a round plate on an elastic foundation and radially loaded with a pressure pO which may represent a plate either radially compressed or stressed due to thermal or residual stresses. As an example, the case of a hinged ring, loaded for a short time over its plane area, is solved. (Author)
