INTERPRETATION OF OV1-5 RADIOMETRIC OBSERVATIONS.

Abstract

Programs for the computation of Mie scattering functions have been written and run for ice and water clouds for a number of droplet size distributions in the 1.3 to 2.7 micrometer region. Methods for matrix element calculation are developed and applied to carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. Programs for emissivity calculation have been written and applied to such calculations for carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide. Programs for eigenvector and eigenvalue calculations have been written and applied to N2O. The results of these various calculations have been applied to certain OV1-5 spectrometer observations.
