PHYSICS OF THE SOLAR CORONA.

Abstract

Temperature and density distribution in an active coronal enhancement are determined from Naval Research Laboratory spectroheliograms. A study of variation in mean coronal temperature with time during a solar cycle is reported. Progress is reported in a new determination of coronal chemical abundance from optical emission lines, and studies are reported dealing with the structure and evolution of coronal enhancements, band on monochromatic optical observations.
