EFFECT OF SOME CHEMICALS ON MICROFLORA OF GRAPE JUICE

Abstract

The object of this report was to find the most effective preparation that would satisfy the requirements of a preservative. For this purpose the following substances were studied: pyromucic acid, methyl and ethyl ethers of 5-nitropyromucic acid (menips and enips), 5-chlorpyromucic acid, 5- methylpyromucic acid and others. Moreover, the antibiotics nystatin, grisin, polymyxin, biocillin and others were studied.
