OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF THICK LAYERS OF A UNIFORM DISPERSING MEDIUM (OPTICHESKIE SVOISTVA TOLSTYKH SLOEV ODNORODNOI RASSEIVAYUSHCHEI SREDY),

Abstract

The article shows that an equation of transfer actually allows in a number of cases effective, approximate analytical solution, in which all properties of the environment are taken into account by a small number of empirical constants. The relationships obtained permit solving with rather high accuracy a very broad class of applied problems from many diverse fields. Finally, the obtained relationships create a theoretical basis for the formulation and solution of inverse problems of the theory of light distribution in dispersing media and a basis for the creation and development of methods of quantitative spectral analysis of dispersive substances. The author emphasizes that the solutions obtained pertain exclusively to monochromatic radiation.
