PROPERTIES OF MODERN BLACK-AND-WHITE AIR FILMS AND DEFINITION LIMIT ON AIR NEGATIVES (OSOBENNOSTI SOVREMENNYKH CHERNO-BELYKH AEROPLENOK I REZKOST IZOBRAZHENIYA NA AERONEGATIVAKH),

Abstract

A discussion is given of the development of aerial negative film. From the data presented here, it is shown that both the structure of the film and the conditions of development exert an influence upon the sharpness of the image. The substitution of film Type 15 for film Type 10 in aerial photographic survey is necessary. Film Type 17 is more desirable. Antihalo protection should be introduced. The development of the films should be aimed to the small contrast factor gamma striving for the reduction of its value not as a result of underdevelopment, but by the use of proper developers.
