SOLID STATE PPI RESOLVED SWEEP GENERATOR.

Abstract

This program was performed to provide a 100% solid state antenna follow-up system with resolved sweep generators of small size, high reliability and a high degree of accuracy that is applicable to most present and future radar display systems having a PPI type presentation. Because of its compactness, it can readily replace portions of many present equipments which now use considerably more volume. The system has no rotating machinery and utilizes only single speed antenna information to generate sin/cosine voltage indications of azimuth. Sin/cos generation is virtually immune to antenna information amplitude variations. The system is capable of high speed tracking of antenna rotation without problems encountered in most electromechanical followup servo systems. (Author)
