THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENDOCRINE DISEASES AND CHRONIC INFECTION,

Abstract

Among the diverse etiological factors, causing disorders of the endocrine glands, a significant place is occupied by infections. The possibility of the emergence of structural changes and functional disorders in the endocrine system due to acute infections is a generally known fact, which is supported by clinical observations and has been confirmed by pathologo-anatomical investigations. Observations of a case of Addison's disease, which took place due to chronic recurrent endocarditis, are reported. (Author)
