ESTABLISHMENT OF AN UNSYMMETRICAL WAKE TEST CAPABILITY FOR AERODYNAMIC DECELERATORS. VOLUME III. EXPERIMENTAL WAKE SURVEY AND BODY SURFACE PRESSURE DATA.

Abstract

A series of wind tunnel tests was conducted to determine pressure distribution on the surface of and in the wake of axisymmetric and asymmetric (elliptical) forebodies. These tests were conducted in support of boundary layer and wake analyses required as a basis for establishing an analytical method for predicting the drag of PARASONIC parachutes deployed in the wakes of these forebodies. The analysis of the data obtained during this test is described in Volumes I and II of the report. Tabulations of the data obtained during these tests are presented in this volume. (Author)
