HEAT EXCHANGE DURING CONDENSATION OF POTASSIUM AND SODIUM VAPOR,

Abstract

Experimental data are given on heat exchange during condensation of potassium and sodium vapor as a function of boundary effects: thermal contact resistance due to wall contamination; 'phase transition resistance' due to the sharp temperature difference between the vapor and the liquid surface; and diffusion resistance due to an admixture of noncondensable gases in the metal vapor.
