Abstract

A method is described for the determination of approximate aging times and substitution times of electronic elements. It is based on the minimization of the loss function. For certain simple types of distribution (e.g., gamma distribution) the theory yields reasonably simple equations for the determination of substitution times and aging times which can be used during reliability determination of electronic equipment.
