Abstract

A brief summary is given the results of work in the following areas: Crystal chemistry of close-packed transition metal phases of stoichiometry AB3; AB2 phases with transition metals and gold; effect of cold working on AB3 phases; study of gold-rich rare-earth alloy systems; study of related phases of stoichiometry other than AB3, especially A3B5 and AB2; metastable disordered close-packed phases with compositions near AB3; development of diffraction equipment based on powder diffraction spectrography (energy spectra).
