CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK FOR A TACTICAL LOGISTIC VEHICLE EVALUATION METHODOLOGY.

Abstract

A conceptual model of a methodology for cost effectiveness evaluations of tactical logistic vehicle systems is presented. A discussion of the nature of the problem and of the goals of the solution method is followed by a presentation of the proposed methodology. Some illustrative examples are included, and the mathematical models which will be required to implement the model are described in generalized terms. Emphasis is placed upon the concepts of parametric analysis, tradeoffs between investments in vehicles and support system alternatives, and the problem of phasing in newer systems and phasing out older ones.
