ON THE DAY AIRGLOW,

Abstract

Bedinger's well-known results regarding anomalous day-sky brightness at high altitudes are critically analyzed. On the basis of data obtained from observations of the sky brightness during total solar eclipses, as well as from other sources, the authors arrive at the conclusion that the aforementioned results of observations of the day-sky brightness were due to instrumental effects.
