PARAMETRIC APPROXIMATION FOR INCOMPRESSIBLE LAMINAR BOUNDARY LAYERS WITH SUCTION OR INJECTION,

Abstract

The parametric method of Loitsianskii in the theory of laminar boundary layers is extended to include suction or injection at the surface. The universal equation is generalized to include the suction parameters. A power series solution of the universal equation in terms of two parameters, namely, the external velocity gradient and the surface suction parameters, is obtained. The accuracy of the present method is checked against some exact solutions and is found to be in good agreement up to the order considered in the formulation. (Author)
