AN ANALYSIS OF 'BOUNDARY VALUE TECHNIQUES' FOR PARABOLIC PROBLEMS.
Abstract
Finite-difference equations for parabolic equations are usually treated as marching procedures since one may not prescribe data at t = T. However, one may use the known asymptotic approach to a steady state to provide approximate values for large T. Thus one may attempt to use 'boundary-value' methods to solve such problems over long times. This report provides a thorough analysis of such methods. (Author)
