THE FEASIBILITY OF A CLOSED LOOP MULTIPLE COMPONENT ROCKET THRUST STAND

Abstract

This report considers the extension of rocket engine thrust stand and jet engine thrust stand dynamics by the use of an 'active strut' hydraulic compensator unit installed as an integral member of the force measurement system. A mathematical model was constructed to approximate the dynamic characteristics of a typical rocket engine thrust stand and active strut servo system; the model was mechanized for analog computer simulation.
