MEDICAL SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION SYSTEM.

Abstract

The study describes and documents the results of a medically oriented system study of the Aeromedical Evacuation Systems (AES) of the USAF. The report is organized to provide the reader with (1) a detail description of the AES as it existed at the time of the study, (2) an account of the problems being experienced, (3) a detailed analysis of major components and characteristics of the systems, (4) a forecast of the socio-economic and technical environment in which the future system will operate, (5) an estimate of the requirements of the system at a given period in the future, and (6) a recommended course of action to achieve the systems alterations required to effectively meet the current and future needs. Insofar as it was practical to do so, the full set of data describing given elements of the system has been summarized and included in the text and/or the appendix to provide the reader with a sufficiently extended data base to support both an in-depth evaluation of the conclusions and provide a basis for general reference and future studies.
